Rebecca Hunt
Rebecca Hunt is an international educator and children’s book author who hails from Jersey, a beautiful island renowned for its heritage and landscapes. From an early age, Rebecca found herself captivated by the magical worlds crafted in the pages of children’s books. This passion followed her through childhood, blossomed during her teaching career, and ultimately inspired her to bring her own imaginative stories to life.
Rebecca’s mission as an author is clear: to create stories that entertain, inspire, and nurture a lifelong love of reading in children everywhere. The Bear and the Shrew is just the beginning of a journey filled with enchanting tales, and she is excited to share her stories with readers around the globe.
With years of experience teaching children in different countries, Rebecca has developed a unique understanding of how stories can shape young minds. She believes that reading fosters curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love for learning. Whether it’s rhyming tales or fantastical adventures, she seeks to create books that ignite the same sense of wonder she felt as a child.
Rebecca’s journey into writing was fueled by her classroom experiences. Watching her students’ faces light up during storytime reaffirmed her belief in the power of storytelling. She often dresses up as beloved book characters to inspire her students and share her joy of reading, making her lessons memorable and engaging.
“As a child, I was mesmerized by stories that rhymed, and my parents made each one special by giving characters unique voices. Now, as a teacher, I strive to create that same magic for children. Writing gives me the opportunity to build worlds they can get lost in, characters they can relate to, and stories they will treasure.”
While Rebecca has a passion for art and painting, she discovered the importance of collaboration when she partnered with Upeksha, a talented illustrator whose intricate and whimsical designs perfectly complement her storytelling. Together, they’ve brought Rebecca’s first book, The Bear and the Shrew, to life—a poetic tale about friendship, courage, and adventure.
When she isn’t teaching or writing, Rebecca enjoys exploring underwater worlds through scuba diving, spending quality time with her playful cat, traveling to new places with her boyfriend, and experimenting with her artistic side.
